I know this is hard to believe but I am doing two posts in one day. This one will be short I promise.
I am looking for some guest bloggers. You can be of like mind or of differing opinion. If you would like to keep your name anonymous or use a pen name that is fine. I just ask that you keep it clean and keep it honest. I am looking for some people who are interested in politics and would like to write about it. Let your voice be heard!

It’s ok if I know you too.
With so many people in this world so quick to deny any existence of a higher power, it is great to see Him prove them all wrong in one awesome act. I point to the mere fact that an airplane carrying 155 people, passengers and crew included, can land safely in the middle of a busy city in an ice-cold river with both engines disabled and not one person die or suffer a major injury.
So today I am going to take a slight break, not a complete break, from my usual ranting’s about our money/power hunger bureaucrats to show God’s love and mercy upon a people who are so quick to curse and deny his name. What happened yesterday is nothing short of a miracle. If you are not familiar with the story, click here and read about it.
Can you grasp the enormity of this? Lets build the scenario in our heads. A jet, not a small plane, but a jet with 155 people aboard is taking off at speeds of approximately 120 – 150 miles per hour. While in its ascent it encounters a flock of Canada geese. Enough geese to disable both engines. In my mind that sounds horrible enough. Now throw in there the fact that this plane has no solid ground to land on with its landing gear out. A nice paved area where it can make a rough landing but a much safer landing because it has its landing gear to land upon. This plane now has to land on water. Now as we wrap our minds around that we can undoubtedly come up with a scenario where the plane lands smoothly and bobs on the water for a little bit or at least hits the water somewhat safely. We need to take a few additional facts into consideration. All it takes is for a tip of the wing to catch the water and that plane is in an uncontrolled cart-wheeling motion in which all aboard undoubtedly die. If that is handled correctly, then you have to have the nose of the plane up just right. If it is down just one degree too far, then you have a roll-over situation in which all aboard undoubtedly die. If you can navigate those two situations then you must have the rear of the plane at a proper angle as not to slam it in the water first causing the plane to stop to suddenly, slam to the water and most likely come apart. That is just a few that I can think of. I am sure there are plenty of other situations that I am willfully uneducated about that could have caused major problems.
So ask yourself, were these people lucky and the pilot having a great day that he could perform all of these tasks in such a short period of time without causing one casualty or major injury? Or, could there be some higher power at work here? My answer is that God had a hand in this. His hand had grabbed the plane and placed it within the water as to not harm any bystanders in the buildings or on the streets nearby. His hand placed them in the water and allowed the plane to stay afloat until all passengers safely abandoned the plane. This is the modern day miracle that people claim could never happen. I say open your eyes and see the truth.
Until next time.
Can you believe it? It is finally here. The weirdo whack jobs on the left can finally put up there effigies of George Bush. They can retire their homemade “Bush is a Nazi” signs. An era has come to an end. We could debate the good and the bad of his presidency, but I will save that for another day.
However, while I am excited that this two-year election cycle is almost over, I am also extremely concerned for the people of our nation.
Let me share a story of my concern.
It all started this morning. It was a typical Tuesday morning in the Smith household. Tiffany was up a little earlier than normal to make the trek to Carrollton for her meeting. I am being told a hundred times to get up or the kids will be late for school. We get the kids ready and Tiffany heads out. I start freaking out because she has giving me instructions on which medicines to give the kids and who needs lunch money and who needs a snack. Don’t worry, I forgot 95% of what she said. At least I dispersed out the right medicines.
So, off to the school house I take the kids, I get some gas and finally I am ready to go vote. I am expecting the extremely long lines that I faced in the 2004 Bush vs. Kerry election. I arrive and see that there is nowhere near that many people. Maybe fifty or so people. I waited about thirty minutes or so.
This is where the story gets interesting and makes me worry for our country and for this election. I was in line and people started filing in behind me. Anyone who knows me knows that I am slowly turning into my mom in certain ways. In this case, I love to talk to the folks around me. So I strike up a conversation with the lady behind me. She was a rather large woman and good six inches shorter than I. If you are easily offended I suggest you skip the remainder of this paragraph and start on the next. This lady appeared to be of the lower class. She was not completely clean, she was slightly unkempt and probably complains about being poor and hungry despite her size. She was most definitely an Obama supporter. Most likely from the government cheese crowd. I know that sounds harsh but you live and you learn and I have learned a lot in my past 30 years.
This lady was talking to me about how this is the first time she had ever voted. She was glad the line was short because she probably wouldn’t have stayed to vote. She had no clue what was going on. As we were chatting and a woman behind her had become involved in the conversation, a poll worker came by with one of the sample ballots. This is where it went downhill. This lady, a 100% chance she is voting for Obama, did not have a clue at what she was looking at. She read over the page, front and back, and admitted that she did not know who these people were. She pointed at the box that showed The Senate race and asked “What is that?” She didn’t know what a Senator was. This went on for most of the time we were in line. The only reason she came out to vote is because her mom told her to because it is important to get her candidate elected. Here is a woman who only knew to vote for Obama. She didn’t know why, she didn’t understand all of the other things she was voting for.
I know that it may sound petty but you have to thank about this on a macro level. There are millions upon millions of people voting this way. They are sheep that are being herded and told what to do. Their only concern is to stay at home at reap the benefits of not being an individual and receiving their handouts. Unfortunately, this is where we are headed. Our government run school system and our dependence on the government is going to turn us to a socialist nation before it is all over with.
I am really going to go out on a limb here. I believe someone should have to qualify to vote. Just because you are a citizen you shouldn’t get a vote. The constitution does not offer it as a right so no one is has the right to vote. All I could think is that my well informed vote is fixing to be canceled out by this grossly uninformed vote.
I will leave you with this. Here is a woman who thinks that once Obama wins, that she will not have to worry about paying for gas in her car or paying for her mortgage. Listen close because it comes at the end.
Stay informed. This is where our country is heading unless we decide to make a change. A change to smaller, less intrusive government. Not the big government higher tax change of Obama.
Until next time.
